Although you may not think it, spending time in hospital is a perfect opportunity to give up smoking for good.

We understand that being admitted to hospital can be a stressful time for smokers, so Lewisham Hospital has two dedicated stop smoking advisors to help you overcome your cravings and assist you in avoiding the long walk to find a smoking area (our hospital and grounds are smoke free environments).

Our specialist advisors offer free and confidential advice and support in their weekly clinics and on their regular ward rounds. They can arrange for nicotine replacement therapy to be brought to you on the ward and will also make sure that you have follow up appointments once you’ve been discharged.

You can arrange to meet them by asking one of your medical team for a referral.

If you would like to meet one of our advisors and aren’t an inpatient, our advisors run four clinics throughout the week where you can get free 1:1 support and advice.

You must book an appointment to see one of advisors; we wouldn’t want you to be disappointed by turning up unannounced.
