It’s simple to get started. You’ll answer a series of questions to assess your eligibility as well as your smoking habits.
It shouldn’t take more than a few minutes, about as long as it would take to smoke a cigarette.
We understand that when you’re giving up smoking, sometimes it can be difficult to find the right support at the right moment. On a Friday evening when you suddenly crave a cigarette, or on your lunch break after a stressful morning at work, you need support at your fingertips.
As a result, we have developed a quit tool that you can use from your phone, tablet or PC. It’s simple to use, helps to work out the best treatment for you, and will text you when it thinks that you may need moral support or a boost to help you on your journey.

You’ll then select your two preferred NRT’s (Nicotine Replacement Therapy). Please see our Available Treatments page for more information on what’s available (Champix is not available though the Remote Quick Programme).
Next, you’ll select your quit date. This is the first day after your last cigarette. In order to get your NRT to you in time, it needs to be a few days after you sign up. We want to make sure that you are well prepared for your journey.
We’ll double check all your information and give you a chance to amend any mistakes and then that’s it, you’re good to go!
We’ll get your prescription sent through to your GP.
The day before your quit date we will send you a reminder and from then on we’ll text you from time to time to check in and to help keep you on track.
We’ll be with you every step of the way and are just a phone call or email away if you need us.
The quit day is your first day without smoking, and it marks the start of your quit attempt.
We advise you to decide when your quit date will be before starting any treatments, and to commit to not having a single puff on a cigarette from the quit day onwards.
If you are using NRT you normally start using the medication on your quit day as a replacement for smoking.
If you need some more help you can call the stop smoking team to have a chat with an advisor. They can talk to you on the phone or arrange for you to attend one of their clinics for some extra support. Seeing an advisor will make you more likely to quit so it’s a good idea to have a chat with them whenever you feel the need. Just call 0800 0820 388 or e-mail quit@smokefreelewisham.co.uk
If you would like to use Champix to help you quit smoking then please call 0800 0820 388 and arrange to see one of our advisors.
